ROBOTICS WITH MBOT (ADVANCED)

Want to do more with your mBot?  This course is for those who already have basic understanding of mBot programming from school or other institutes, and want to build on top of the understanding.  From the course, children will learn the advanced line following technique and work with servo and other sensors to build different robotic models.


Duration: 6 Hours (4 sessions)

Pre-requisite: Basic understanding of mBot programming including ultrasonic, line following etc.

WHAT IS MBOT?

mBot is an educational programmable robot widely used in schools and institutes worldwide.  It consists of a micro-processor and sensors that enables mBot to be programmed to accomplish robotic tasks.

WHAT CAN MBOT DO?

mBot consists of a micro-processor and sensors that make mBot pretty versatile.  It can use its ultrasonic sensor to detect and steer away from the obstacle.  It can also detect and follow the line using its line follower.  Also, mBot comes with a Scratch-like interface with which children can program the robot.

WHAT IS THE PREREQUISITE?

Students should have basic understanding of mBot Programming from schools or institutes.  They should be able to code mBot to avoid obstacles with ultrasonics, to follow lines with line followers etc.

WHAT IS COURSE OUTLINE?

Module 1:  Advanced Line Following Technique
Module 2:  Learn Servo, and Create a Path-Searching Robot
Module 3:  Construct an Auto Conveying Robot
Module 4:  Learn Other Sensors and Build own Models

WHAT DO I NEED FOR THE CLASS?

Students need to bring their own mBot (assembled) and laptop (Windows or Mac) with mBlock installed (www.mblock.cc).  

Students also need to bring a mBot servo pack
