WHAT IS DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MAKER CAMP AND OTHER COURSES?

The Mini Maker Camp, instead of focusing on a particular area is designed to allow the maximum flexibility to students to exploit their superb creativity and make their own prototypes.  Students will be introduced with design thinking and brainstorming techniques - and encouraged to experiment with different materials and technologies.

WHAT IS TINKERCAD?

Tinkercad is an online application for 3D design and 3D printing, with which students will be able to design toys, Minecraft models etc.  We have 3D printers which students will see how the printers are going to work.

WHAT IS COSPACES?

Cospaces is an online application in which students can create and code their virtual reality.  They can then view the virtual reality with cardboard VR glasses!

WHAT IS METAS?

Metas combine the best of Lego bricks and electronics, in which students will exploit their creativity and make their electronic prototypes with ease.

WHAT IS ARDUINO?

Arduino is one of the most popular micro-processors used by maker community.  In this course, students will learn how the electronics basics and on how to assemble a prototype using different actuators and sensors and materials.

DO WE NEED OTHER MATERIALS?

Each student only needs to carry his/her own Arduino set and laptop.  We will provide all the rest of the materials required for making (cardboard, lego bricks, sensors etc).  Students will be required to disassemble the creations and return the materials after the course.  In case that parents want to retain the model, it may be purchased with material costs.

WHAT DO I NEED FOR THE CLASS?

Students need to bring their own wifi-enabled laptops (Windows or Mac), a mobile phone (for VR) and Objectblocks / Arduino basic set (can be purchased from our online shop)
